Sales Office budgets and property integrations

A planner's request can have a different budget from the opportunities at the properties receiving it. Use the original request budget to understand what the planner asked for, and each property budget to follow that property's result.

Understand the two budgets

The Sales Office lead keeps the planner's budget, including a budget reviewed when creating a lead from a request for proposal (RFP).

When you refer the lead to properties:

  • A new property opportunity starts with the Sales Office lead's budget.
  • Linking an existing property opportunity keeps that opportunity's current budget.

After referral, each property budget can change independently. Editing or winning one opportunity does not change the original request or another property's budget.

Know where to update a property budget

When a connected system controls the budget, the property opportunity's Budget field is read-only and names that system. Make the change there so it can sync to Siv. If the field is editable, users who can edit the opportunity can update it in Siv.

Connected systemWhere the property budget comes from
Event TempleSiv sends the starting budget when it creates the booking. While that booking remains linked, update its deal value or group financials in Event Temple. Later Siv changes do not overwrite the booking's budget.
TripleseatSiv sends the budget as information with the inquiry. Once a booking is linked, its Tripleseat financial totals control the property opportunity budget.
STSA live STS lead link supplies the estimated value. After conversion, STS supplies booking revenue. A closed lead or booking can still control the budget while its link remains active.
ThynkSiv sends the starting budget when it creates the inquiry. Later Thynk budget changes do not sync back to Siv. The property budget remains editable in Siv.

After a linked Event Temple, Tripleseat, or STS record is marked deleted in Siv, that link no longer controls the budget. The field becomes editable if no other connected system controls it. Closing an opportunity alone does not release its budget. If the field stays locked unexpectedly, ask your administrator to check the connection; see Troubleshooting.

Understand the effect on reporting

In Sales Office reporting, Demand counts the original budget once for each lead with a current Referred or Engaged outcome. Referring a $50,000 request to three properties adds $50,000 to open demand.

An unreferred lead contributes no open demand. A win at any property included by your filters removes the whole request budget from open demand, even if another property is still working on the request. Open demand also excludes leads whose included opportunities are all lost. Missing original budgets are flagged; Siv does not fill them from property budgets.

Won revenue uses the current budget of each won property opportunity. For example, if two properties win portions worth $30,000 and $15,000, won revenue is $45,000. Those property values do not overwrite the original request budget.

Property filters change which wins and losses count. A request won at one property can still count as open demand when you filter to another property that is working on it. Avoid adding property-filtered demand totals together: the same original request can appear under several properties.
